The Early Development Instrument (EDI) tells us how children are doing when they enter kindergarten. The EDI is a population-level data tool, administered by kindergarten teachers, that measures five core areas of early child development that are known to be good predictors of adult health, education and social outcomes. The tool measures developmental change or trends in populations of children. Join Pippa Rowcliffe, Deputy Director and Sally McBride, KT Manager from the Human Early Learning Partnership (UBC) to learn the results from the 2016 EDI which can help us better understand the factors that can support and enhance the well-being of Richmond children.
